Light Tank T14 and T16 in Alaska.
Note the turret placement on these tanks: the vehicle in the foreground of this picture is a T14, while the one following is a T16. Besides the mirror image placement of the crew, the vehicles were identical. The turret could only rotate 240° due to the driver's hood. Also of interest are the rotating armored shutters for the drivers' vision blocks. (Picture taken summer 1942; available from the Library of Congress.)
The T16 is shown with only the turret ball mount fitted with its machine gun. The relative heights of the driver's hood and the turret can be discerned, with the hood preventing full rotation of the turret. The engine exhaust was routed over the left fender.
