Light Armored Car M38 Wolfhound.
Compared to the M8 armored car it was designed to replace, the M38 possessed oversized tires and evenly spaced axles which conferred a large mobility advantage. The 3-man turret was open-topped, and a .30cal machine gun is mounted on the antiaircraft pedestal in this image. The driver was offset to the left, and his hood swung to the right up towards the turret when opened. A radio bustle was provided in the rear of the turret, and a second antenna mount was found at the back of the bustle. A canvas cover has been installed over the turret opening, and a foul weather hood has been placed over the driver's position. The driver's bulbous hatch cover is visible swung into the open position below the coaxial machine gun. An antenna mount is at the turret's left rear corner, and air intake and exhaust louvres occupy the hull's left side and extreme rear. A filler cap cover is at the left rear corner of the hull, and the engine exhaust can just be seen at the right rear corner of the hull behind the right rear wheel.
