The T17 was a 6x6 armored car design submitted by Ford for a British proposal, but its large size and weight ultimately caused the T17E1 design by Chevrolet to be chosen for production. The British dubbed the T17 the Deerhound, but none were actually sent to them. All 250 T17s were kept in the US for use by military police after removal of the 37mm guns.
