Medium Tank Recovery Vehicle M74 belonging to the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor.

The M74 bears a strong resemblance to the tank recovery vehicle M32, from which some M74s were converted. The stabilizing spade/dozer blade is in the retracted position to the vehicle's front, and the A-frame boom is stowed to the rear. The auxiliary winch is visible on the front of the turret, behind the open driver's hatch. The tracks on the vehicle's turret are rubber-block T84.

A broader look at the vehicle is provided here. The boom on the M74 was raised via hydraulic cylinders, in contrast to earlier tank recovery vehicles, which allowed it to be used as a live boom. Stowage boxes and baskets are again provided on the rear hull and rear deck. (Picture from Tank Data, vol. 2.)
