The 4.7cm Pak(t) (Sf) auf Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B replaced the turret and superstructure roof from the basic Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B with a mount for the Skoda's 4.7cm KPÚV vz.38, renamed Pak 36(t) in German service. The weapon and crew were protected by a gun shield which was open at the rear and top. Skoda-produced vehicles were fitted with a seven-sided gun shield, while ALKETT manufactured their vehicles with a five-sided gun shield. A few Pz.Jgr.I were armed with the 3.7cm Pak 35/36 L/46.5, but these weakly-armed vehicles did not remain in service for long.
