Panzerkampfwagen I Ausfuehrung B at the US Army Ordnance Museum.

This little Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B illustrates the single indepently sprung road wheel, and the strengthening girder connecting the other road wheel bogies. The driver was stationed on the left side of the fighting compartment, and the commander manned the twin machine gun turret offset to the right. Ausfuehrung B featured a lengthened chassis, which necessitated a fifth road wheel and a fourth return roller, and the idler wheel was raised from the ground.

The front road wheel on Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B was independently sprung, while the rest were paired into bogies. Observation hatches are visible in the turret and right side of the hull.

Panzerkampfwagen I Ausfuehrung F at the Military Museum in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.

Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.F bears little resemblance to the other members of the Pz.Kpfw.I family. This pitcure offers a good view of the interleaved road wheels of its new torsion bar suspension, however the rubber tires are missing on many of the wheels. The increased armor thickness is obvious when looking at the gun shield, driver's visor, and side entry hatch. For all the protection, however, the Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.F was armed with only two machine guns. (Picture courtesy Bojan Kavedzic.)
